Though its a boom for IT industry in INdia, its a threat to the citizens of US who own the country. And still its a question whats going to happen ?

Coming to the big picture… Filing of H1B visa is going to start from April 1(for entry into the US from October 1), and IT companies are already scurrying to put together all documents in the expectation that the entire H-1B quota will be exhausted on the very first day, as it did last year.

For the 58,200 H-1B quota, the US received 1,20,000 petitions on April 2, 2007, the first day the quota opened last year.

It was widely expected last year that the US Congress would increase the H-1B quota to over a lakh. But that didn’t happen

Several immigration bills have failed in the US and since election fever is going on, Bush wont take this matter up.

To overcome this problem, domestic companies are currently busy checking out alternative options like L visa (meant for intra-company transfer), J visa (for specialists/domain experts) and B (business) category visas

Note: Indians were 34,000 of the 58,200 H-1B recipients last year

Eventhough the infrastructure of multitasking, scheduling and storage are on top of hitlist, the OS giants Apple and Microsoft still have not implemented this very needed Copy & Paste crux.

But a light weight tool ClipX has overcome those difficulties. It offers users to paste any items that are copied before by keeping track of it.

Software giant Microsoft made good on its promise to offer .Net Framework 3.5 source code this week, three months after Scott Guthrie, a general manager within the Microsoft Developer division, posted Microsoft’s intent on his blog. The source code to classes such as System, IO, Windows.Forms, and others is now viewable from within Visual Studio.

When the announcement was first made, however, some developers viewed it as a Pandora’s Box because the source code would be released under a “Reference” license, which meant developers could view the code but not use or modify it. On Wednesday Guthrie revealed a small change in the licensing which addresses those concerns:

“We made a small change to the license to specifically call out that the license does not apply to users developing software for a non-Windows platform that has ‘the same or substantially the same features or functionality’ as the .NET Framework,” he wrote. “If the software you are developing is for Windows platforms, you can look at the code, even if that software has ‘the same or substantially the same features or functionality’ as the .NET Framework.”

Alani Kuye, president of Norwalk, Conn.-based solution provider Phantom Data Systems, says the decision is a positive one for Microsoft, open source, and the channel, but it comes with strings attached. “Open source right now is really biting into the market, and it’s biting really hard,” he said. “This is Microsoft’s way of saying open source is taking off, but we’re still here.”
